Hnojový Dům

The wooden house stands at the end of a path leading toward marshlands, displaying traditional architecture with dark brown walls and white window frames.

Built between the 17th and 18th centuries, the building served as a residence for 150 years before becoming a storage facility for manure after World War II.

Gustav Ginzel transformed the house into a museum filled with unusual objects, including folk-painted furniture and early tourism artifacts from the Liberec region.

The current structure, reconstructed in 1996 following a devastating fire, remains private property and is not open for public visits.

The house earned its name Hnojový dům, meaning Manure House, when Gustav Ginzel purchased it in 1964 and sold the accumulated manure for more than the building's cost.
