Černá jezírka

Cerná jezírka is a nature reserve in the Jizera Mountains that features small lakes and boggy terrain surrounded by spruce forest. The landscape has recovered gradually since severe damage to trees decades ago.

The reserve was established in 1960 and suffered severe forest damage during the 1980s from air pollution and acid rain. Recovery of the woodland has started gradually since then.

The area maintains strict conservation protocols as part of the first zone of the Jizera Mountains Protected Landscape Area management system.

Access to this reserve is restricted due to its protected status and ongoing ecological monitoring. Visitors should check local guidelines before visiting and consider walking routes in nearby areas instead.

The site contains peat deposits reaching depths of 4 meters that support rare plant species. These boggy areas provide scientists with valuable information about ecological processes and regional biodiversity.
