Černá jezírka, Nature reserve near Bílý Potok, Czech Republic
The Černá jezírka nature reserve encompasses 66.6 hectares of protected land with elevations ranging from 885 to 912 meters above sea level.
The reserve, established in 1960, experienced significant spruce forest decline during the 1980s due to sulfur dioxide emissions and soil degradation.
The area maintains strict conservation protocols as part of the first zone of the Jizera Mountains Protected Landscape Area management system.
The protected status of Černá jezírka limits visitor access, though the area provides essential monitoring sites for ecological research.
The reserve contains peat deposits up to four meters deep and houses 75 plant species, including ten specifically protected varieties.
