Odolena Voda is a municipality in Prague-East District, situated about 17 kilometers north of Prague in the Czech Republic. The settlement spreads across green, rolling terrain with traditional houses and modern developments that blend rural and industrial character.
The settlement was first recorded in 1352 and fell under the control of the Metropolitan Chapter at Saint Vitus Cathedral. During the 20th century, its fate shifted dramatically with the founding of a major aircraft factory that fundamentally transformed the place.
The Church of Saint Clement, constructed between 1733 and 1735, represents the architectural skill of Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer through its Baroque design.
The location is easily accessible by car via the D8 motorway from Prague, making regular visits convenient. Public transportation also connects the place to the capital, allowing for flexible day trips.
The aircraft factory Aero Vodochody was established here in 1953 and has employed thousands of people in aviation manufacturing. The factory transformed this small village into a center of Czech aircraft production and continues to shape the character of the place today.
