Klepáč

Klapperstein is a mountain summit near Králický Sněžník in Czech Republic standing at around 1144 meters tall with a wooden observation tower at its peak. The tower provides views across surrounding ridges and forested slopes that stretch into the distance.

The summit received a 28-meter observation tower in 2009 through a cross-border project by the Euroregion Glacensis initiative. This construction marked a key moment in developing visitor access to the location.

The summit carries different names across three languages: Klepáč in Czech, Klapperstein in German, and Trójmorski Wierch in Polish, reflecting centuries of shared regional heritage. These names show how people from different cultures have long connected with this mountain crossing.

Reaching the summit requires being ready for steep trails, especially during winter months when alternative routes may need to be considered. Good footwear and weather protection make a real difference given how quickly conditions can shift up here.

The location marks a triple watershed point where waters flow toward three different seas: the Baltic via the Oder River, the North Sea via the Elbe, and the Black Sea via the Danube. This unusual geographic meeting place brings together three major European water systems.
