National House in Prostějov, Art Nouveau theatre and cultural center in Prostějov, Czech Republic
The National House combines a 513-seat theatre hall, lecture rooms for 200 people, a restaurant, and multiple social spaces under one roof.
Architect Jan Kotěra designed this cultural monument, which opened its doors on December 1, 1907, following construction supervised by builder Otakar Pokorný.
The building hosts theatrical performances, concerts, art exhibitions, and community events throughout the year in its dedicated performance spaces.
The National House Public Benefit Association manages the cafe and wine bar, offering catering services and training programs for hospitality students.
Artists František Kysela, Jan Preisler, and sculptors Stanislav Sucharda decorated the interior spaces with their artistic contributions during initial construction.
