Muzeum Těšínska, Regional museum in Český Těšín, Czech Republic

Muzeum Těšínska is a regional museum based in Český Těšín, with five branches: the Chotěbuz Archeopark, Kotulova dřevěnka in Havířov-Podlesí, the Muzeum trojmezí in Jablunkov, the Památník životické tragédie in Životice, and the Historická budova in Český Těšín. Its collections cover the history, natural sciences and local lore of Těšín Silesia.

The institution was founded in 1948 by teacher Ladislav Báča as a project to preserve regional objects. Over more than seven decades, it grew into a significant collection reflecting the development of Těšín Silesia.

The museum has published the magazine Těšínsko since 1957. Its Klub Muzea Těšínska, with over 150 members, organises lectures on the history, natural science and geography of the Těšín region. It also cooperates with the Muzeum Śląska Cieszyńskiego in Cieszyn, Poland.

The main building is in Český Těšín, with further sites in Chotěbuz, Havířov-Podlesí, Jablunkov and Životice; the Jablunkov branch makes the museum the easternmost professional museum in the Czech Republic. The Muzejní knihovna and the Silesia study room are part of the institution, and the Klub Muzea Těšínska, with over 150 members, organises lectures on history, local lore and natural science.

The museum has five branches: the Chotěbuz Archeopark, Kotula's wooden house in Havířov-Podlesí, the Museum of the Three Borders in Jablunkov, the Životice Tragedy Memorial, and the historic building in Český Těšín. Its Jablunkov branch makes it the easternmost professional museum in the Czech Republic.
