Sedačková lanovka Ráztoka - Pustevny, Mountain chairlift in Trojanovice, Czech Republic.
The Ráztoka-Pustevny chairlift is a mountain aerial lift connecting lower terrain at 620 meters with higher ground at 1020 meters in the Radhošť region. The system climbs through forested mountainous slopes, covering the elevation gain across its cable route.
The lift was built in 1940 as Europe's first chairlift system, pioneering aerial transport technology in the region. It underwent major reconstruction in 1956 when mechanical parts and steel structures were replaced with modern equipment.
The upper station reflects local building traditions through its use of stone and wood materials. Visitors can see regional craftsmanship expressed in the station building's design.
Visit on clear days for the best views from the upper station. Bring warmer clothing since temperatures are noticeably lower at the higher elevation than in the valley below.
The system adjusts its speed based on the season to adapt to changing conditions. In summer it operates at a slower pace, while winter speeds increase to match the different environmental demands.
