Čertova hora, Mountain summit in Krkonoše, Czech Republic

Teufelsberg is a mountain summit in the Krkonoše range standing at around 1020 meters, surrounded by rocky outcrops and forest. The peak offers views across the mountain landscape and the terrain below.

The name comes from medieval folklore when locals believed supernatural beings inhabited this peak. This old belief shaped how the place was named and remembered.

The German name Teufelsberg (Devil's Mountain) and the Czech Čertova hora both mean the same thing, and the peak marks the westernmost thousand-metre summit of the Krkonoše. Below it, Harrachov's winter-sports tradition began after Count Jan Harrach brought skis to the mountains in the late 19th century; the winter sports association followed in 1908.

Several marked trails lead to the summit from different starting points, offering varying difficulty levels for different visitors. The paths are open year-round but require appropriate gear depending on the season.

The summit lies just outside the Krkonoše National Park boundary, about 1.5 km from Harrachov town centre, and is the westernmost peak above 1,000 m in the range. Two chairlifts reach it, one from Harrachov climbing 350 m and one from Rýžoviště.
