Eisenberg, Mountain summit in northern Czech Republic

Eisenberg is a mountain summit in northern Czech Republic near the border region. Multiple marked trails wind through the slopes and lead to the peak, which provides wide views across the surrounding hills.

The name Eisenberg, Czech Železný vrch, is documented for this 1,000-plus-metre summit closing the Kozí hřbety ridge above Špindlerův Mlýn. The ridge runs from Luční hora, and the summit lies in zone I of Krkonošský národní park, where entry is forbidden. The parallel brooks on its slopes feed the Bílé Labe to the north and the Svatopetrský potok to the south, both tributaries of the Elbe.

The German name Eisenberg and the Czech Železný vrch both mean "iron mountain". The ridge path from the Krakonoš viewpoint is closed to protect the quiet zone of the Krkonoše National Park, so walkers reach the slopes by the yellow-marked Dřevařská cesta from the Bílé Labe valley.

The summit is accessible via several marked hiking trails starting from different points in the surrounding area. Spring through autumn offers the best conditions for walking, when paths are dry and passable.

The summit itself lies in zone I of Krkonošský národní park and may not be entered; the yellow-marked Dřevařská cesta from the Bílé Labe valley passes closest on the northeast slope, 400 m away with 230 m of elevation gain. The ridge path from the Krakonoš viewpoint is closed for nature protection.
