Mušov Reservoir is a large artificial lake in South Moravia near Dolní Dunajovice, surrounded by the gentle hills of the Pálava region. It was built for water management, flood control, and irrigation purposes, and stretches across the landscape with open banks and scattered trees along the shore.
The reservoir was built to control flooding and improve irrigation in the region. Nearby, the ruins of Děvičky castle on a small hill stand as reminders of the area's longer past, stretching back through the centuries.
You can take boat trips across the water, with regular cruises departing from Pasohlávky port and offering refreshments and snacks on board. For more active visitors, the area offers windsurfing, water skiing, pedalo rentals, walking trails, and cycling paths that wind through vineyards and along the surrounding hills.
