Nature park Džbán, Nature park in Louny and Kladno Districts, Czech Republic.
Nature park Džbán is a protected area spread across a chalk plateau with valleys spanning three districts. The highest point reaches 536 meters (1,760 feet) and the park is approximately 70 percent covered by forest.
The park was established in 1994 to preserve continuous forest cover between two industrial coal basins. This protection saved an important green area from further destruction.
The villages surrounding the park contain farmsteads built in baroque style and heritage trees that reflect the region's rural traditions. These structures show how people have lived and worked with this landscape over centuries.
The park features two marked walking trails with educational stops, including the Stone Rows Trail with 11 information points. These paths are easy to explore on foot and work well for a day visit.
The area functions as a watershed for three major rivers: Vltava, Berounka, and Ohre, which means water from here flows to different parts of the country. This role as a source area gives it ecological importance that visitors often overlook.
