Rezavka contains diverse ecosystems with floodplain forests, meadows, and ponds, forming a network of streams and abandoned river channels.
The establishment of Rezavka as a protected area occurred on May 27, 1998, under the National Nature Reserves Act number 114/1992.
An educational trail spanning 6 kilometers features ten information panels that provide knowledge about the local plants and animals to visitors.
The reserve location within Ostrava, the third largest city in Czech Republic, makes it accessible through public transportation and private vehicles.
During spring, numerous wildflowers emerge across the reserve, including snowdrops, wood anemones, star-shaped flowers, and wild garlic species.
