Prameny U korýtka

Prameny U korýtka is a spring box in the Zábřeh forest where water emerges through a pipe from a stone wall and flows into a trapezoidal drainage channel. The source sits at about 235 meters in altitude and marks a natural water point in the woodland area.

During the First Czechoslovak Republic period, a popular excursion restaurant once operated near this spring, serving as a gathering place for local visitors. This made the location an important destination for outings and social gatherings at that time.

The water flows from Ondřejník hill, and the name refers to both the artificial course of the Oder River and the trough-like structure where the spring emerges. This connection to local hydrology is still visible in how the water collects and channels today.

This spring box is located in the wooded section of Zábřeh forest and is reachable on foot from nearby parking areas along Petruškova Street. The walk takes you through the woodland park and is accessible for casual hikers.

A monument nearby marks where Czechoslovak tanks crossed the Oder River during the liberation of Ostrava. This war memorial connects the peaceful forest spring with a significant moment of local history.
