Vyhlídka Máj is a scenic viewpoint near Teletín featuring natural rock outcrops that overlook a horseshoe bend in the Vltava River. The location sits surrounded by forest, with viewing areas positioned at different elevations along the site.
Before the Slapy dam was built, this area had dangerous rapids where raftsmen moved timber down the Vltava toward Prague. The river regulation transformed the landscape completely.
The viewpoint represents a natural observation point without artificial structures, maintaining the traditional Czech approach to nature preservation.
The site is accessible on foot from Teletín village via a walking path that starts near a meadow entrance. Parking is available close to where the path begins.
The rock formations allow views of the Vltava meander from several different elevations, giving each vantage point its own perspective. This multi-level arrangement makes the location especially rewarding for photographers.
