Smetanova vyhlídka, Scenic viewpoint in Krňany, Czech Republic

Smetanova vyhlídka is a viewing platform built in 1974 on the outer bank of a Vltava bend below Kletečná hill (371 m), above the former Svatojánské proudy rapids now covered by the Štěchovice reservoir. From the platform visitors see the river meander and the Ztracená naděje tramp settlement opposite; the Kletecký vodopád waterfall lies in the ravine beneath.

A viewing platform was built here in 1974 to mark the 150th anniversary of Bedřich Smetana's birth, with a spur from the yellow trail between Třebsín and Nedvězí. The composer's visits to the spot are a legend, not a documented fact. In June 2020 the private landowner fenced off the viewpoint and its access path.

The viewpoint bears the name of composer Bedrich Smetana and reflects the local connection to classical music heritage. Visitors come to experience the landscape that once inspired the artist himself.

The yellow trail from Třebsín to Nedvězí was rerouted, and the Czech Tourist Club discussed cancelling its 13.5 km Třebsín–Teletín–Nedvězí–Blaženice–Jablonná section. The similar Máj viewpoint, about two kilometres south near Teletín, remains open.

The spot was long open to the public and a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers. Since 2020, fencing has significantly altered access to this landmark.
