Dálniční most přes Labe u Poděbrad, Road bridge on D11 motorway near Poděbrady, Czech Republic
The Elbe motorway bridge near Poděbrady is a cable-stayed crossing that spans the river on the D11 highway route. It connects Oseček and Libice nad Cidlinou with a total length of about 245 meters and a deck width of about 32 meters.
The bridge was completed and opened in 1990, shortly after the fall of communism in Czechoslovakia. It was part of developing modern highway infrastructure in the newly independent Czech state.
The bridge represents modern Czech engineering methods by combining functional design with structural requirements for spanning the Elbe River transportation corridor.
The bridge is part of the main D11 motorway and can be viewed from passing vehicles without entering it. There are viewpoints along the road where the structure is visible from different angles.
The bridge uses an asymmetrical span system with three differently sized sections to efficiently cross the riverbed and banks. This division creates a stable structure that accommodates both river traffic and geological conditions.
