Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Catholic church in Pohoří na Šumavě, Czech Republic.

The Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel is a late-Baroque church built between 1783 and 1791 by Count Johann von Buquoy on the site of a wooden chapel from 1779. After the tower collapsed in 1999, only the perimeter walls and the presbytery survived; the nave now stands roofless and open, while the presbytery has been walled in with a new window and door to form a chapel.

A wooden chapel stood here from 1779; Count Johann von Buquoy had the late-Baroque church built between 1783 and 1791. After the German-speaking inhabitants were expelled after 1945 and the village fell inside the border zone, the church decayed and served as a cattle stable in the 1950s. On 30 May 1999 the tower collapsed after rain and destroyed the nave, days before restoration work was to begin.

The presbytery survives as a chapel where Mass, concerts and meetings of former residents are held. The Bucherser Heimatverein, made up of displaced German-speaking locals living in Austria, organises Christmas concerts and serves refreshments in the oratory on the first and third Sunday from Easter to October, selling local products.

The site is easily accessible on foot and sits in a rural setting within the Šumava region. Visitors should wear appropriate footwear as paths in this border landscape can be uneven and variable.
