Airship Gulliver, Architectural structure in Holešovice, Prague, Czech Republic
Airship Gulliver is a 42-meter-long wooden and steel structure that rises above the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art. The shape resembles a zeppelin, and the interior functions as a venue for events and gatherings within the contemporary art space.
The structure was completed in 2016 following two years of construction and involved architect Martin Rajniš working with wood and steel specialists. This project marked the expansion of the DOX Centre and introduced a new artistic approach to how public spaces could function within an art institution.
The name references Jonathan Swift's character Gulliver, emphasizing the literary connection to the venue's purpose. Today, visitors experience readings, discussions, and workshops that explore contemporary ideas and creative expression.
Access is through the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art located at Poupetova 1 in Prague 7, and it is best to allow time for a full visit. The structure is easy to spot when approaching the center, with clear pathways leading to and around it.
The interior spaces represent one of Prague's less well-known event venues that blend artistic installation with practical function. Many visitors notice the structure from outside but rarely discover the range of events and programs held within it.
