Villa of Anastázie Neherová, Functionalist villa in Prostějov, Czech Republic

The Villa of Anastázie Neherová is a three-storey functionalist villa at Pod Kosířem 73 in Prostějov, built in 1938–1939 to Antonín Navrátil's design by the firm Konečný & Nedělník. Its reinforced-concrete skeleton with brick infill rises above a sunken rear ground floor that held an air-raid shelter. The entrance on the north side opens into a marble-clad vestibule, with the living hall, dining room and library on the middle floor and three bedrooms above.

The villa was built in 1938–1939 for Jan Nehera (1899–1958) and Anastázie Neherová, née Kristková (1904–1984), to Antonín Navrátil's design; the firm Konečný & Nedělník carried out the work. Building permission was issued on 3 June 1938 and the completion protocol signed on 19 September 1939. The plot was bought from the Sportovní klub Prostějov. In 1998 the house was rebuilt for administrative use, altering some interior layouts and the garden. It has been a protected cultural monument since 12 March 2008.

Jan Nehera, who commissioned the villa with his wife Anastázie, ran a clothing firm and was known as a "king of fashion" for his ready-made menswear. Anastázie worked in the company as an accountant and married him in 1924 at the age of twenty. The couple had three children: Libuše, Jan and Jitka.

The villa stands at Pod Kosířem 73 on the northern edge of Prostějov, near the Hloučela stream. It now serves administrative purposes after a 1998 reconstruction, so interiors are not open to the public. The exterior and the divided garden can be viewed from the street.

In the lowered rear part of the ground floor, an artificial rise in the terrain on the south and east sides hid a reinforced-concrete air-raid shelter. Its escape exit was a blind window about 1×1 m with wooden boarding, behind which a chimney filled with sand was to pour out and open the way out.
