The Polish House stands at the intersection of Žerotínová and Poděbradová streets, featuring Art Nouveau architectural elements designed by Stanisław Bandrowski.
Established in 1900, the building emerged from the needs of Polish immigrants who arrived in Ostrava during the industrial development of the Ostrava-Karviná coal basin.
The Polish House functions as a central meeting point for cultural events, theater performances, and educational activities for the Polish minority community in Ostrava.
The facility operates as both a cultural center and hotel, providing accommodation services while maintaining its role as a venue for Polish-Czech friendship events.
Two wagons of damaged Kraków walls were incorporated into the building's external decoration, along with Piast eagles, connecting the structure to Polish heritage.
