The Water tower in Hranice is a reinforced concrete structure built in 1930 that reflects the engineering techniques of its time. Its solid form and functional design display typical characteristics of early industrial architecture.

Construction of the water tower in Karviná-Hranice probably began in 1928 and was completed in 1930, when it began supplying water to the Fryštát municipal water system. During World War II it served as an observation post and was damaged by Nazi forces near the end of the war. It was taken out of service and disconnected from the network after the Petrovice–Karviná water pipeline was built in 1972.

The tower symbolizes Hranice's modernization in the 20th century and stands today as a visible reminder of the city's industrial past. Visitors can understand its importance to local development by observing how the structure dominates its surroundings.

The tower is located on U Vodárny street and can be viewed from outside; daytime visits offer the best views when the architecture is clearly visible. The immediate surroundings have safe walkways and are easily accessible on foot.

The interior features a central staircase that once connected workers to different levels of the water storage system. This practical design shows how engineers of that era elegantly combined function with accessibility.
