Annahof, Renaissance Revival apartment building in Perštýn, Liberec, Czech Republic
The Annahof is a Neo-Renaissance residential building of 1890 on a triangular plan, built by Liberec builder Ferdinand Scholze to a design by Vienna architect Franz von Neumann. Its corner, once the entrance to a piano shop, is flanked by two atlantes supporting a projecting bay, with sculpture by Josef Elstner.
The Annahof was designed by architect Franz Neumann in the late 19th century and has shaped the cityscape since then. The building emerged during a period of intense architectural development in Liberec.
The house is named Annahof after Anna Finková, a Viennese pianist and the aunt of Josef Proksch the younger, who commissioned the building as a showpiece and piano showroom for the family firm. The corner entrance to the former shop is flanked by two atlantes supporting a projecting bay window.
