The Medvědí kašna on náměstí 14. října is a Baroque stone structure featuring three large bears that support an upper basin. The top is crowned by a Neptune statue that once held a trident, which is now missing.
The fountain was created in 1689 by sculptor Jeroným Kohl and originally stood in a private garden. It was moved to its current location near the courthouse in 1894.
The bears in the fountain's design represent a local symbol tied to the region's heritage and identity. Visitors can see how this local element was combined with classical mythology in a single structure.
The fountain sits on a central plaza and is easy to reach on foot from various directions. The square offers green space and benches where you can rest and view the sculpture from multiple angles.
