Milíčův dům

Milíčův dům is an educational building in Žižkov designed with separate rooms for teaching, workshops, reading, physical activity, and music instruction. It also includes outdoor garden space and clubrooms for various activities and gatherings.

Premysl Pitter founded this institution in 1933 to serve disadvantaged children during the economically difficult interwar period. It later became a place of refuge during occupation, when it provided shelter and protection to those in danger.

The space was organized around creative and practical activities, with dedicated areas for music, theater, and gardening that shaped daily life for those who came here. The layout reveals how education and skill-building were meant to be woven into everyday experiences.
