Červený most, Cultural monument bridge in Rýzmburk, Czech Republic

Červený most is a wooden suspension bridge from 1880 over the Úpa in the northern part of Babiččino údolí. It rests on sandstone-block abutments and a central oval pier with a wedge on the upstream side. The structure uses double suspension posts with railings braced by Saint Andrew's crosses, and the wooden deck is reinforced with steel profiles.

The wooden bridge replaced a ford on the so-called Panská cesta (Manor Road) across the Úpa in the northern part of Babiččino údolí. Built in 1880, it was named Prinz Franz Josefs Brücke, but its characteristic red paint gave it the name Červený most. In 2018 the Ministry of Culture declared it a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

The bridge can be reached via marked trails that begin near Ratibořice and connect to various destinations across the region. Public bus services link the area to larger towns, making it straightforward to plan a day trip.

On the side of the central sandstone pier, a carved inscription with a small crown and a year is cut into the stone, easily missed by passers-by. The bridge was built in 1880 under the name Prinz Franz Josefs Brücke, but the red paint soon gave it its Czech name. It was closed at the end of 2020 because of its poor technical condition.
