Hadí pramen, Mineral spring in Dvořákovy sady, Czech Republic.
Hadí pramen is a mineral spring in Dvořákovy sady park that flows at roughly 28 degrees Celsius and produces about two liters of water daily. The spring sits inside an artistically designed fountain featuring a distinctive serpent-shaped column.
The spring was discovered during drilling operations near the famous Vřídlo in the 1980s and opened to the public in 2004. This finding added another stop to Karlovy Vary's network of thermal sources.
The spring's name refers to grass snakes that once inhabited areas behind the colonnades, and this connection appears in the serpent-shaped column design. Visitors can see how the local wildlife history shaped the way this place was built and named.
The spring is located in Dvořákovy sady park, easily reached on foot from the city center or by bus lines 1 and 4 to the Lázně III stop. The site fits comfortably into a leisurely walk through the park and spa district.
The water is especially rich in carbon dioxide at about 1600 mg per liter, setting it apart from other Karlovy Vary springs despite lower overall mineral content. This high carbonation makes the water effervescent with a distinctive taste.
