Park na Karlově, Urban park in Karlov, Prague, Czechia
Park na Karlove is an urban green space in Karlov situated between the Church of the Assumption, the Police Museum building, and the Nusle Bridge approach at an elevation of 235 meters. Paved paths form a continuous circuit through the grounds, with seating areas and shade from mature trees distributed throughout.
Emperor Charles IV founded the adjacent Augustinian monastery and the Church of the Assumption on September 13, 1350. This religious foundation shaped the area's development and the character of what later became this park.
The baroque gate with sundial at the entrance from Bozeny Nemcove Street marks the character of this green space. Visitors encounter a pilgrimage chapel with a sandstone statue during their walks.
The paved circuit loop is well-suited for leisurely walks in an elevated part of the city. Seating areas invite visitors to rest, and mature trees provide shelter from sun.
The park contains Japanese pagoda trees, small-leaved linden, horse chestnut, and maple species that create a woodland feel within the city. This variety of trees makes it a botanical retreat.
