The grounds developed from vineyard plots and a farmstead that served as construction staging for the bridge completed in 1973, before municipal authorities converted the site into public parkland during subsequent decades.
The park serves as a neighborhood gathering spot for families, sports enthusiasts, and dog owners from Vinohrady and Nové Město, hosting informal community activities throughout warmer months.
Visitors find basketball courts, a petanque area, playgrounds, and barbecue equipment rental between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Tram lines 4, 6, 10, 16, and 22 stop at nearby Štěpánská station.
A ventilation shaft at the northern edge was designed as an R2-D2 robot and regularly attracts graffiti artists and science fiction fans who use the unusual technical structure as a backdrop.
