Permonium, Zábavní park

Permonium is an amusement park on the site of the former Kukla coal mine in Oslavany, Brno-Country District. Its attractions occupy the old mining grounds: a network of mine tunnels, a mine lake, a rope climbing area, and a large above-ground maze. The Kukla mining tower stands at the centre of the grounds.

Permonium occupies the grounds of the former Rosicko-oslavanská mining district in Oslavany, where coal was extracted until the workings closed in the 20th century. The park opened in 2014 and kept the Kukla winding tower as its landmark, turning the shaft headframe into the start of a long mine slide. The site's industrial buildings were adapted rather than demolished.

The name Permonium comes from the Czech word permon, a gnome-like creature from local mining folklore, and this theme runs through the whole park. Visitors notice it in the characters, the game challenges, and the story that ties each route together.

The park is open during the warmer months, so checking the schedule before visiting is a good idea. Comfortable shoes and clothes that can get dirty are worth wearing, since some areas involve climbing, tunnels, and uneven ground.

The Kukla mining tower, reused from Oslavany's coal-mining past, holds a slide that doubles as a game: visitors get three attempts to ride it and claim a treasure at the bottom. The starting point sits at the top of the tower, so the reward follows the climb.
