Sun, Water, Air

Sun, Water, Air is a sandstone sculpture ensemble distributed along Ke Strašnická street in Prague 10, representing three fundamental natural elements. The formations are spaced throughout the residential area of Strašnice and create focal points within the neighborhood.

Created in 1989 by Jiří Prádler, the work emerged during Czechoslovakia's period of major social transition. This timing gave public art new significance in how communities expressed themselves in their neighborhoods.

The work shows how natural elements integrate into residential neighborhoods and shape the way locals experience their everyday environment.

The ensemble sits in a quiet residential area and is easily accessible on foot by walking through Ke Strašnická street. The sculptures are visible year-round and require no special arrangements to view them.

The sandstone surface shifts in appearance noticeably with weather and seasons, so return visits reveal different visual qualities each time. This gradual transformation keeps the work alive and deepens its connection to the natural elements it depicts.
