The Beach, Water park in Albuquerque, United States.
The Beach was a water park spanning 14 acres with multiple attractions for different ages. The grounds included three 75-foot water slides, a large wave pool holding 700,000 gallons of water, and smaller pools for children.
The park opened in 1987 and operated its attractions for 17 years. Operations ended in 2005 and the grounds were later offered for sale.
The park offered separate areas for families, where children could enjoy shallow pools and colorful water attractions. Visitors could see how the place functioned as a gathering spot for summer outings, especially for residents from the surrounding area.
Lifeguards supervised all swimming areas and ample parking was available for visitors. Operations ran only during the warm seasons.
The Black Hole slide took riders through a dark tunnel before they slid into a shallow catch pool. Another slide called Rolling Thunder offered enclosed curves and twists throughout the ride.
