Indian Pueblo Cultural Center

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Native American cultural center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is a museum in Albuquerque dedicated to the art and history of the Pueblo peoples, displaying more than 4500 artifacts alongside rotating exhibitions of contemporary works. The complex contains multiple galleries and also operates a restaurant, shop, and research library for visitors.

Founded in 1976, the center was established by the 19 Pueblo tribes of New Mexico working together to preserve and present their own heritage. This collaborative approach means the institution remains under tribal leadership and reflects how the communities want their stories told.

The center hosts regular performances and demonstrations where Pueblo artists and dancers share their traditions directly with visitors in the exhibition spaces. You can watch artisans at work and experience how these practices remain central to community life today.

The center is located just minutes from Old Town Albuquerque and is easy to reach by car or public transportation. Facilities on site include a restaurant, gift shop, and research library, allowing you to spend several hours exploring comfortably.

The complex features extensive murals painted by Pueblo artists that cover many of its walls and create a visually rich environment. The restaurant sources its ingredients directly from tribal communities throughout New Mexico, making meals part of the cultural experience.
