The Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art is an art museum in Roswell, New Mexico, displaying contemporary works across several exhibition spaces. The building houses photographs, paintings, prints, drawings, and sculptures by different artists.
The museum grew out of an artist residency program founded in 1967 by an oil industry figure. This patron later became an artist and collector himself, establishing the foundation for the institution.
The residency began in 1967 when Donald B. Anderson, an oil company founder turned painter and collector, brought national artists to Roswell; the museum, founded in 1994, keeps their work. In 2017 the Roswell Artist-in-Residence program won the Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts. Works by Luis Jiménez, Milton Resnick and Olive Ayhens are among those on view.
