Gaston County Courthouse is a three-story rectangular tan brick building in Classical Revival style, designed by Milburn, Heister & Company and built in 1910. It has pedimented porticoes on Ionic columns, a heavy modillion and dentil cornice, and three-sided pavilions on the side elevations, plus a rear addition.

Designed by Frank Pierce Milburn's firm, Milburn, Heister & Company, in 1909 and built in 1910, this tan brick courthouse became the legal center of Gaston County. It was renovated in 1954 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 as part of the Downtown Gastonia Historic District.
