Davison House, University dormitory at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, United States.
Davison House is a five-story residential building at Vassar College containing 191 rooms available in single, double, and triple configurations across multiple floors. The spaces accommodate different numbers of students throughout the residence hall structure.
John D. Rockefeller funded the construction of this building in 1902 and named it after his mother Eliza Davison as his third major gift to Vassar College. This project formed part of his important investments in the college's development.
The building displays Elizabethan architectural features with Pennsylvania slate roofing, multiple chimneys, and traditional brick construction that define its character on campus.
The building features shared bathrooms on each floor, a communal kitchen, study areas, and a basement space for student band practice. These facilities support the everyday needs of residents throughout the day.
Following renovations from 2008 to 2009, this residence hall became the first at Vassar College with complete accessibility features for students with disabilities. These upgrades set a standard for accessible residential design at the institution.
