Tempesto, Steel roller coaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, United States
Tempesto is a steel roller coaster in Williamsburg, Virginia, United States. The installation takes riders along a track of about 863 feet (263 meters) through several acceleration phases, reaching a top speed of about 62 mph (100 km/h).
The installation opened in 2015 and expanded the range of rides in the park. It was designed and built by Premier Rides, a manufacturer based in the state of Maryland.
The ride carries an Italian name and fits the design of the park section where it stands. Visitors often notice the thematic match between colors and architecture around the installation.
Riders must be at least about 54 inches (137 cm) tall to board. The cars are equipped with lap bars and operate during regular park opening hours.
The car accelerates three times during one ride, once backward. This backward acceleration happens shortly before the climb to the highest point at about 151 feet (46 meters).
