Verrückt

Verrückt was a water slide with a height of about 168 feet and two major drops linked by a five-story uphill section. The slide sat at Schlitterbahn Kansas City and was known for its extreme construction.

The slide opened in July 2014 and set a world record as the tallest water slide at that time. It surpassed the previous record that had been established in Brazil.

The name comes from German and means insane, signaling to visitors what kind of ride experience awaited them. People talked about this attraction because of how the unusual name matched the daring engineering.

Visitors had to climb about 264 steps to reach the boarding platform and went through weight checks before riding. It was important to understand the physical demands before committing to this intense experience.

The design featured a secondary hump after the initial drop that let rafts hit extreme speeds. This clever engineering feature was key to the rush that defined the ride.
