Lake Catherine State Park CCC Cabins

The Lake Catherine State Park contains four rustic cabins constructed with wooden frames, stone chimneys, and weatherboard exteriors along the lake shore.

The Civilian Conservation Corps constructed these recreational structures in 1935, with three cabins for tourists and one serving administrative functions.

These structures represent the National Park Service Rustic architectural style, which integrated local materials and traditional building methods.

Three cabins remain available for overnight stays, featuring living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms with lake views from screened porches.

German prisoners of war completed certain portions of the park structures during World War II, including a 210-foot stone retaining wall near the cabins.
