X-Coaster

The X-Coaster is a steel roller coaster at Magic Springs and Crystal Falls in Arkansas that reaches a maximum height of 151 feet and travels at speeds up to 65 miles per hour. The ride features two cars with six seats per cycle and uses a chain lift system to climb its track.

This roller coaster opened in 2006 as the first installation of its kind in North America, introducing a German technology new to the continent at that time. Its sturdy welded construction allowed it to survive planned removal attempts years later.

The ride represents a notable example of German engineering that visitors recognize for its distinctive construction style. The SkyLoop technology used here stands out from typical roller coaster designs found in most American parks.

Riders should know that each cycle lasts only a few minutes, and the ride can develop long wait times especially on weekends and during summer months. Visiting early in the day or using the park's reservation system helps avoid extended waits.

In 2007, twelve riders experienced an unexpected power loss that left them suspended upside down for several minutes high above the ground. This incident became a well-known story among roller coaster enthusiasts and demonstrates the safety features built into the ride.
