Hot Springs Mountain Tower, Observation tower in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas.
Hot Springs Mountain Tower is a steel lattice structure rising 216 feet and providing panoramic views across the Ouachita Mountains and surrounding lake region. The tower offers both open-air observation decks and a climate-controlled lower level with historical exhibits and information displays.
The current tower opened in 1983 as the third structure at this location, following a wooden tower built in 1877 and the Rix Tower constructed in 1906. This site has served as a favored viewing point for visitors across many generations.
The tower serves as a gathering place where visitors learn about the area's past through exhibits and displays. People come to experience the landscape from above and connect with the geography that shaped this region.
The tower offers both outdoor and indoor viewing areas, making it accessible regardless of weather conditions. Visitors should note that operating hours vary between seasons, so checking current times before arrival is recommended.
On clear days, visitors can see landscapes stretching over 140 miles away, making this one of the most expansive viewpoints in the region. The combination of elevation and unobstructed sightlines creates memorable vistas that change with the seasons and time of day.
