Crawford House, Palace hotel in Crawford Notch, New Hampshire, US.
The Crawford House stretched 200 feet in length across three stories, featuring wide porches that provided views of Crawford Notch and Saco Lake.
The first Crawford House opened in 1850, burned down in 1859, and was rebuilt within two months as New Hampshire's largest hotel at that time.
The hotel represented mountain tourism development, connecting visitors to hiking trails including the Crawford Path that later became part of the Appalachian Trail.
The establishment served as a central point for outdoor activities, with direct access to Mount Willard hiking trails and the Portland & Ogdensburg Railroad station.
The property housed 400 guests at its peak and stood as a dividing point between the watersheds of the Ammonoosuc and Saco Rivers.
