Beech Hill Preserve, Nature reserve and historic site in Rockport, United States.
Beech Hill Preserve is a nature reserve with two walking trails that lead to an open hilltop. From this vantage point, visitors can see Penobscot Bay and the Camden Hills.
The land came under protection in 1986 through a conservation agreement and was later acquired in 2003 by the Coastal Mountains Land Trust. This organization continues to manage it for long-term preservation.
The Beech Nut structure at the summit shows early 20th-century building methods and was constructed using Norwegian sod-roofing techniques. This building shapes how visitors experience the hilltop today.
Two parking areas provide access to the preserve: one on Beech Hill Road for the Summit Trail and another on Rockville Street for the Woods Loop. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and bring rain gear.
The preserve operates a commercial blueberry farm while serving as habitat for many bird species. This dual purpose shows how food production and nature protection can work together on the same land.
