Philly Pumptrack, Public bicycle park in Parkside, Philadelphia, United States
Philly Pumptrack is a cycling facility with two separate courses: a circular beginner track and an advanced section featuring multiple routes and banked turns. Both areas use smooth asphalt surfaces designed to help riders build speed through body movement alone.
The facility was launched by local cycling enthusiasts in May 2014 and has since become a major training and racing hub in Philadelphia. It continues to grow as a community-driven project.
Riders gather here for organized races, skill-building sessions, and weekend community events where people of all ages learn to ride together.
The park is open from May through October, and all riders must complete waiver forms before using the track. Visitors under 18 need additional paperwork, making it easy to understand the safety requirements in advance.
What sets the track apart is the ability for riders to build speed through momentum using a system of rollers and curved surfaces without constant pedaling. This design helps beginners and younger cyclists learn the fundamentals of bike handling more naturally.
