Richard and Sarah Smith established this children's recreation center in 1899, with architect James H. Windrim designing the 24,000-square-foot Victorian-style building.
The playground hosts the annual Kidchella Music Festival, offering families free musical performances, art stations, and community activities during summer months.
The facility welcomes children under 10 for outdoor activities and those under 5 for indoor play, with adult supervision required for all visitors.
The Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide stands 10 feet high and 40 feet long, accommodating 12 children simultaneously for parallel sliding experiences.
