Lewis and Clark State Park

Lewis and Clark State Park covers 250 acres along the Blue Lake shoreline with trails winding through wooded areas. The landscape provides habitat where deer, rabbits, and squirrels move freely among the trees and natural features.

An exploration team led by two officers established a camp here on August 9, 1804, while traveling westward through newly acquired territory. This location marks a significant stopping point during their cross-continental journey.

The site commemorates a major American expedition through local traditions and invites visitors to connect with this historic journey. The boat replica serves as a focal point that helps people understand the importance of this exploration across the country.

The park provides camping spots with electric hookups, shower facilities, and picnic areas with tables and grills spread throughout the grounds. Most trails and visitor areas are well maintained and easy to navigate for people of varying abilities.

A day-use building from the 1930s displays the craftsmanship of workers who built public projects during the economic crisis. The sturdy stone structure remains a reminder of this distinctive building era and local work history.
