Ypao Beach

Ypao Beach is a public beach in Tamuning with white sand and turquoise water stretching along a rocky shoreline. A spacious grassy area behind the sand provides picnic spots, barbecue pits, and a pavilion for gatherings.

The beach was originally a meeting place for the Chamorro people before being officially established as a public recreation area in the 20th century. This transformation made waterfront access available to the wider community.

The pavilion serves as a gathering space where residents host celebrations and musical performances that reflect island traditions. The beach functions as a place where the local community comes together for social occasions and shared activities.

The beach is well equipped with restrooms, showers, lifeguards, and ample parking, making a visit convenient and safe. The water is calmest during certain times of year, and the shallow areas near shore are accessible for beginners snorkeling.

The protected marine zone just offshore holds a range of tropical fish species that snorkelers can see directly from the shore. This colorful underwater world remains easily accessible to visitors of all skill levels.
