Ypao Beach, Public beach in Tamuning, Guam
The white sand beach extends along the coast with turquoise waters and a large grassy recreational area in the background.
The beach served the indigenous Chamorro people as a communal gathering place before becoming a designated public recreation site in the 20th century.
Local residents organize traditional festivals and performances at the beach pavilions throughout the year to celebrate Guamanian heritage.
The beach facilities include restrooms, showers, lifeguard stations, picnic tables, barbecue pits, and parking spaces open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Snorkelers can observe numerous species of tropical fish within the protected marine area near the beach shore.
