The Last Bookstore, Used and antiquarian bookstore in Downtown Los Angeles, United States.
The Last Bookstore is a used and antiquarian bookstore housed in a former bank building in Downtown Los Angeles. The space spans two floors with extensive collections of new, used, and rare books alongside several art-focused installations.
The bookstore was founded in 2005 starting in a Downtown loft before moving to the Spring Arts Tower in 2011. This relocation allowed the space to expand and integrate additional creative venues under one roof.
The space houses artist studios, a record shop, and a comics section that together create a gathering place for creative people. Visitors can discover not just books here but also encounter local artists and their work.
The bookstore sits one block from the Pershing Square metro station and opens daily to visitors. Wear comfortable shoes since there is plenty to explore across multiple floors.
The old bank vault has been transformed into a cozy reading nook where visitors can retreat to read surrounded by historical architecture. Additionally, there is a notable book tunnel and several book-inspired art installations throughout the space.
