Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! is a ride at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, California. The structure uses a tower that rises and falls multiple times while screens show scenes with characters from the movie.

The ride opened in May 2017 on the site where a different themed tower had stood before. The new version brought characters from the Marvel universe into the park and marked the beginning of a larger redesign of the entire area.

The name comes from the 2014 film about a group of misfits traveling through space. Each ride plays a different song from the seventies and eighties as the tower moves guests up and down.

Visitors must be at least 40 inches (102 cm) tall to ride, and the fast movements can be too much for some people. Wait times are often long, so arriving early in the day or returning in the evening near park closing can help.

The building stands over 180 feet (55 meters) tall and can be seen from many spots in the park even when you are not nearby. Inside, you can see items from the films, including weapons and equipment supposedly from other worlds.

Opening Hours: Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout operates during the Halloween season from park opening until 16:00, then the attraction closes and reopens an hour later as Monsters After Dark, which operates from 17:00 through park closing.
