Queen City Landing, Mixed-use development in Buffalo, United States
Queen City Landing is a mixed-use residential building on Buffalo's Outer Harbor with 20 stories housing various apartment sizes and ground-floor retail spaces. The structure accommodates around 350 parking spaces and includes publicly accessible areas that connect to the waterfront.
The site was previously occupied by Freezer Queen Foods warehouse, which was demolished to make room for this new development. The project represents Buffalo's shift toward revitalizing former industrial areas along the harbor.
The building creates public gathering spaces along the waterfront that encourage people to linger and interact with the shoreline. These areas reflect how the development connects residential life with the harbor environment.
The building has easily accessible entry points from the waterfront with plenty of room to walk around the surrounding area. The location near open water can be quite windy, so dressing in layers is advisable when visiting.
The project was redesigned from its original plans to reduce environmental impact, with the building footprint reduced by about 30 percent and moved further from the water. This adjustment shows how developers responded to local concerns about protecting the harbor space.
