Audubon Center at Bent of the River

The Bent of the River Audubon Center extends across 700 acres of fields, forests, shrublands, and grasslands along the Pomperaug River.

The property maintains structures from the 1800s, including a historic barn that now functions as the main center building with educational displays.

The center conducts environmental education programs throughout the year, teaching visitors about local birds, wildlife, and conservation methods.

Fifteen miles of hiking trails remain open daily from sunrise to sunset, with a suggested donation of 5 dollars for trail access.

The center features a covered viewing deck where visitors can observe numerous bird species at close range at designated feeding stations.
